Darrel is a senior technology executive, consultant, and turnaround specialist with over twenty years management experience. He has succeeded in line and staff management, organization restructuring, Project Management, business analysis, software application development, project recapture, and acquisition evaluation and integration. He has recovered projects and organizations and managed major new technology enterprise financial and other software development and integration projects. He has consulted, presented keynote speeches, and trained for organizations in the finance, high tech, energy, nonprofit, and other industries.

Darrel has helped organizations gain market share, increase sales, and reduce costs. He has held COO, CIO, VP Operations, Sr. Director Programs, and Director Quality Assurance positions. His background in change management, program and project management, business analysis, Joint Application Development, and human development speed bottom-line results and allow productive mentoring of executives, project managers and project team staff. Frequent roles are project executive, change agent, and temporary executive. Darrel’s energetic and get-it-done passion influences teams to accomplish more than they thought they could.

Darrel writes a column, The Project Management Advisor, to help managers and team members at all levels become more effective. He is Managing Consultant, Project & Program Consulting for Data Analysis & Results, Lead Instructor for St. Edwards University Professional Education Center Project Management program, and has been Contributing Writer for PMI IS SIG quarterly Review and many other publications.
He presents courses, papers, and seminars at international management conferences including the Delivering Project Excellence Conference, many Project Management Institute chapter and other professional organization meetings, and scheduled management training. Darrel has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, CIO Magazine, Baseline Magazine, PM Network, Dallas Technology Magazine, The Dallas Morning News, and many other publications.
He holds Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Computer Professional (CCP) certifications. Darrel received his MBA in Information Systems, Managing Advanced Technologies from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California. His degrees B.S. Accounting and Finance are from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
